Eight people got injured in Mumbai as three cars collided due to low visibility. The low visibility was caused because of heavy rainfall in the city and the cars collided on Andheri flyover. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued heavy rainfall forecast for Mumbai on July 24, 25. The IMD said that a cyclonic circulation would bring more showers to the city in the next two days.

Apart from Mumbai, Raigad and Ratnagiri districts in Maharashtra have been warned of extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places on these two days. An IMD official said, “A cyclonic circulation is being developed near Mumbai, which will bring more showers to the city. The city has received hardly any showers in last 2-3 days but the situation is changing. There will be more showers in the coming days.”

The heavy rainfall in Mumbai has caused water logging in the city submerging some railway tracks. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has issued traffic advisory in a tweet based on IMD’s weather forecast.

According to the IMD, heavy to very heavy rainfall with extremely heavy falls were very likely at isolated places over Konkan and Goa as well. Heavy to very heavy rainfall has been forecast at isolated places over Uttar Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Bihar, Assam, Meghalaya, and Coastal Karnataka and heavy rainfall at isolated places over East Rajasthan, Madhya Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Kerala and Mahe, South Interior Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, & Delhi, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura.
