With the Lok Sabha elections round the corner, biopics on politicians are on the rise. Filmmaker Omung Kumar is making a movie on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and is close to the movie being released. On Wednesday, a web series on the PM Modi was announced by Eros Now. It would be titled ‘Modi’, and the web series would be released in April this year. The release of the series would coincide with the 2019 general elections that will be held from April 11 to May 19.
This web series would consist of 10 episodes and Faisal Khan, Ashish Sharma and Mahesh Thakur will play the role of Modi at different ages in the series. The series would be financed by Benchmark Pictures. The series promises to be an interesting one covering Prime Minster Modi’s illustrious career starting from a tender age of 12 to the highs and lows of his political career. He had joined the Bhartiya Janta Party in 1987 before which he had served the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. In 2001 he became the Chief Minister of Gujarat and in 2014, he took on the reigns of the nation to become the Prime Minister.
Umesh Shukla will be direct the web series on Prime Minister Modi. In a press release, the makers said, “The web series will “showcases the eventful life of the inspiring and influential leader.” “His growing-up years, brave decisions and roles at different phases of life makes for an incredible story.” Radhika Anand and Mihir Bhuta have written the series and the series would be highlighting innumerable incidents that have shaped Modi the way he is now – a devotee of the motherland who has completely immersed himself in the service of the nation. The series is a story of a self-made man- a rags to riches saga.
Ridhima Lulla, the Eros Group Chief Content Officer mentioned in a statement that the project would be an extremely exciting project. She said, “Our attempt through this biopic is to tell the story of his struggle, ambition, intensity and success and how it not only inspires many but is one of the factors of his mass appeal.”
