You simply need to send a message to block your lost ATM card.

The country’s largest lender offers toll-free SMS facility through its SBI Quick app. With SBI Quick, services can be requested by sending an SMS or giving a missed call. Apart from blocking their ATM cards, ATM card switch on/off usage at PoS, ATM, international etc. SBI customers can check the bank account balance, mini statement, request for cheque books, account statement of the last six months, home loan and education interest certificates, etc with this app.

How to block SBI ATM-cum-debit card via SMS

You can even block your SBI ATM-cum-debit card offline. But for that, you need your registered mobile number and the last 4 digits of your ATM card.

  • Send an SMS- “BLOCK<space>XXXX” to the number 567676
  • XXXX is the last four digits of your SBI ATM-cum-debit card.
  • On acceptance of the request for blocking, you will get a confirmatory SMS alert that contains the ticket number, date and time of blocking.

To make use of any of the above mentioned services, you must ensure that your main mobile number is registered with the bank. Only then could you make use of the services. If you have already registered your mobile number with the bank, you may proceed to the next section. If you have not registered phone number with the bank, you may do that by sending a simple SMS.

The format of the message is- REG<space>Your Account Number. Send the above mentioned SMS to the number- 09223488888. This will get your phone number registered with the bank easily.
