The modern tech-ruled world is all about staying updated and moving forward fast. The tech world is highly fast paced and full of innovations, and thus, we are constantly flooded with new technology, features and software updates for the contemporary, advanced devices. Nevertheless, there are still quite some people who don’t mind the older versions of software as long as their work needs are being met, and simply don’t bother to update. However, the Windows 7 users will have to drop their old school attitude, as Microsoft has announced to say goodbye to Windows 7 OS.

Software major Microsoft has revealed that the company will soon be putting an end to Windows 7 operation system (OS), and the company has posted that it is announcing a notification update to all the existing Windows 7 users.

Microsoft has finally decided to put an end to Windows 7 OS version and will be stopping all the security support for this version soon. Hence, the Windows 7 users have no choice, but to update their devices by upgrading to a newer Windows OS version.

Microsoft recently posted that after 10 years of servicing, January 14, 2020 will be the last day that the company will offer security updates for devices running on Windows 7. This is the reminder about Windows 7 end of support.

The company also said that this update is available through the Windows Update. If users have enabled automatic updates, this update will get downloaded and installed automatically.

However, the “do not remind again” option will be there to choose, if the users don’t wish to get notifications.

The latest Windows 10 OS version is inching closer to its maker’s target of installation on 1 billion devices, and the company’s decision to end Windows 7 will further push the promotion of the Windows 10, as per the reports.

At present, the Windows 10 OS is running on over 800 million devices across the world.
